63 1972TS trains were built by Metro-Cammell between 1972 and 1974, and
first entered service in June 1972. Only 36 of these trains, formed of 72 units,
remain in service on the Bakerloo line.
Each seven-car train is formed of a four-car unit (32xx) and a three-car unit
(35xx).
36 four-car units are formed of 2 driving motor cars (DM) and 2 trailers (T),
in the formation DM-T-T-DM. These cars are numbered 32xx-42xx-43xx-33xx.
36 three-car units are formed of a driving motor car (DM), a trailer (T), and
an uncoupling non-driving motor car (UNDM). These cars are numbered
35xx-45xx-34xx.
Four-car unit 3299 is unusual in that it is formed of a single driving motor
car (DM) and 3 trailers (T), in the formation DM-T-T-T.
All four-car units between 3252 and 3263 inclusive (note that there is no
unit 3257) carry deicing equipment in their third trailer car (43xx).
